When uploading to My Score, score and part files must be formatted as PDFs.  In many cases, compressing these files is a beneficial and sometimes necessary step in getting music files ready to upload.  This is because pasting images and other similar media into a PDF document can not only increase the file size, but also cause distortion within the document itself.  


Please note: Copying a copyright symbol (©) from the web will sometimes paste the copyright symbol as an image rather than text.  This can cause distortion and blurry prints of your music because of the multiple formats within the document.  If you include images or copyright symbols in your score files that are copied and pasted, be sure to complete the process below before uploading.


To compress a PDF, the most convenient way to do this is through the "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer that is available via the print function of any computer.  Please be sure to follow the steps below to complete this process if file compression is necessary for your files:


1. Open your PDF file in Adobe Acrobat or your web browser.


2. Select the "Print" function located at the top right hand corner of the Adobe screen/console.  This will open the print menu that gives the option to select a printer and formatting for the printing of the document.




3. Select "Microsoft Print to PDF" to save the document as a new file that will now be compressed. Completing this process brings all of the text, images, etc. into the same format and prevents file size issues and distortion.  Instead of saving it as a new file, you can also choose to overwrite your previous PDF if you
