What Can I Do to Safeguard My Account in Case of My Death?

Modified on Thu, Jun 12, 2025 at 12:39 PM

There are several steps you can make to safeguard your account in case of your passing:

1.    Make sure you have a trusted relative or loved one who knows how to access your My Score account.

2.    If you want your account to remain open, leave clear instructions for your trusted individual on how you would like them to update your account. If you have any remaining work to be uploaded, you can guide them to our support page so they can learn more about our platform and the uploading process.

3.    If you prefer to close your account in the event of your passing, your trusted individual simply needs to contact us at myscore@jwpepper.com. They should let us know the account needs closing and we will take care of the rest.

4. Direct your trusted individual to our support article on managing the account - What should I do in the Event of the Death of a My Score Composer?

When deciding on whether or not to close your account in the event of your passing, remember that your copyrights last 70 years after your death. Your music could become a source of income for your relative or loved one for many years to come.
